Large Outdoor Lifestyle/Portrait Model Shoot with Nine Models

Time for another large outdoor model shoot at the Creekside Community Center. The last two times we hosted this, everyone had a great time and got really great shots so lets do it again.

This one took a lot more time and more work to setup as we're bringing more models and more make up artists so we can have smaller groups and more shooting time with the modesl

Please join us on Sunday, July 28th at 9:30am at the Creekside Community Center for this epic shoot, followed by lunch at 12:35pm at Terra breads just across the street.

Here are the models who are coming. We have nine models, these are their actual photos.

What will Happen

• We will meet in room MP1 inside the Creekside Community Centre at 9:30pm. We have booked the room, so you can leave your bags there or take them with you.

• We'll break into small groups (2 to 3 photographers to one model) and start shooting at 9:45pm, where you will work together to photograph her for 50 minutes around Athletes Village.

• Then we'll regroup and re-assign the models to shoot for an additional 50 minutes.

For this event you will have more time with your models, but that also means you'll won't be able to shoot with every model who comes, just your two (unless put two groups/girls together for a short time, hint).

This is sure to be a fun event, open to all levels.

What you will need to bring is your own gear, from camera to lighting, etc... You will find people there to share and work with. Please label your gear so it doesn't get lost.

Cost of the shoot is $35 and GST (much larger team coming than previous), pre-pay on the meetup group. There will be no refunds, so please don't RSVP unless you know you can come.

Please post your favorite photos from the shoot on the meetup group after.

Can we have the names of the make-up artists and which models they worked on?

I've put them as the caption for the first image. Thanks for the reminder!

Now that was great fun. It was good to spend quality time with the models and not be tripping over each other.

Thank you for coming to the lifestye/outdoor photoshoot. It was a great photoshoot, great location, great venue, all the models were great as were all the photographers. We actually had too many models come, so as I said in the room, more models = more opportunity for great shots!

I look forward to seeing your photos posted in the gallery. ~Ronald Lee

So awesome you are doing this again. I missed the last one, so i'm anxious to do this.

I'm a skilled photographer but have ZERO experience working with models and anything other than natural lighting. My normal subjects are landscapes and urban environments which tend not to care how I shoot them :) Hoping to learn a lot from this shoot, and hope its ok that i'm inexperienced.

Don't worry John. Pull one of us aside for help or try to get paired with someone who has experience and they will help you. Just by watching, doing and learning, you'll get the hang of it in no time. I'll give some direction at the start of the event.

With regards to the refund policy, if there are not enough photographer's what happens then?

Most of the time, photographers are complaining that there are too many photographers and one model, this is the first time I've heard of the other way around. The event will happen no matter what, if less photographers you just get more shooting time with the models.

Oh I'm not complaining, just curious!

Would love to try this but not if I have to pay ! Could you please explain why I would pay to take someones picture?

Because the models need to be paid....? Could you please explain why you think it should be free?

      July 25, 2013

    • Ronald Lee

Not just the models, the makeup, the VENUE (venue costs are the ones that are hardest). Greg, I'm sure you can always take photos of your cousins, but when we set up formal events, its usually to give an experience you normally would not have (not in the same way).
