If you're interested in meeting up and shooting the Polar Bear Swim Club event, then this is for you!
For more info, read about it here: http://www.insidevancouver.ca/2013/12/19/polar-bear-swim-vancouver-2014/
Pete will be meeting everyone at C-Lovers Fish & Chips (Denman near Davie) at 12noon for lunch or coffee - and then head down to the waterside (at English Bay) to shoot find a good spot to shoot the brave souls preparing to go into the water.
This is always a fun event. Swimmers often dress up in costume (which they may or may not wear during their less-than-60-second dip), and then afterward pose proudly for friends and others taking photos.
What to expect.................
Those signing up for this event will meet at C-Lovers Fish & Chips at 12noon, and talk and make merry until just after 1pm.
Then head down as a group to the water's edge around 1:30 to 2pm.
At this point, the group will definitely disperse, so if you are keen to hang with those in the group you've met earlier, then it's up to you to stick together. It's up to you. There will be no attempt to keep the group together after reaching water side at English Bay (because it will be mayhem!).
Swimmers will run into the water at 2:30pm and then there's a lot of fun while they get out and run to get their towels and warm clothes (or costumes) back on.
The beach will likely clear out starting at 3pm.
What to bring............
Wear warm clothes, hat and gloves. It's cold down by the water.
Rubber boots will get you closer to the action.
