A couple of places I go back to over and over in Richmond are Finn Slough (at the south foot of 4 Road) with it's old, dilapitated buildings and boats (great shots on a foggy morning), and Steveston with all its fishing boats. Early morning at sunrise will get you some great shots at both locations.

How about the Hastings Race Track ??? Lots of people, some horses and relatively easy to get to ...
.... even for us (ME) bus userssmile

Indeed they will let SLR's in there and, heck, they even me in there
with my DSLRbiggrin and fun to shoot the horses ..... WHATshockshock???
No way, go there to shoot the people and if ya get some horses in the background,
well, hey, you can always photoshop 'em out of therewink ... see the link:

Race track - what a great idea ! Catch the gamblers in the crowd... catch the equine flesh dancing through time and space ... nothing better. Just one thing.. how do we capture all of that action ? ( several shots at once ? fast speed settings ? tripods ? ... i have a lot to learn and what better place with what better people ?).
