Yup! You should check out this building for a shoot. Some very interesting features. G.

I actually work at I know the grounds well. In case you didn't know this already, unless you have a permit, you actually cannot take photos there due privacy for the patients that still live there - believe it or not there are still a 100 or so residents on grounds. I know this because last Spring I was asked to stop taking photos one Saturday by security.. lol. Now given that I work on the grounds for the facility management company that takes care of Riverview.. one would think I would KNOW this... but apparently it takes 7 years to find this out ha ha. Apparently permits are free.. but the Ministry that owns Riverview isn't giving them out right now, at least they weren't in the Spring. But assuming you can get them at some point, they are free.. it's really just an agreement to be respectful of the patients.... It really is a fabulous place to take photos. Feenie's Garden is also quite amazing.. it's up in the back near the property line.

I did not know that! All the talk about wanting to re-open it, I would of thought that it was closed for good. The only resistance I was shown was from the people at a movie shoot. This building was magnificent!

Who knows if it will ever re-open... but the patients still there are long timers.. mainly living in the cottages. Yeah those movie people can be obnoxious at times... :)
