I love this Bruce! I'm interested too in your shutter speed and would love to know any stories you'd like to share about capturing it. :)

Hi all. This is "Oyster Creek" found along the Chuckanut Drive (Hwy 11) in Washington State. Using my D300 and Sigma 17-50mm lens @ 36mm, F/11 for 2 seconds using (I believe) a 6-stop ND filter and tripod. I played hooky with my wife on a Friday and we headed to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival (as seen in my other images). We've never stopped here before, be we noticed the swollen creek and decided to check it out. It was too steep to descend along the side of the creek, so this was taken from the bridge at the end of the hair-pin turn.

It's the first image up and, you know, I think it might still be my favourite.

Hi Winson: Very timely... Here is an article (http://oopoomoo.com/2012/05/how-to-photograph-waterfalls/) by Darwin Wigget, a well known Canadian photographer and educator. I've been thinking about a waterfall event, but haven't come up with the perfect spot. A place you should explore if you are just getting started is VanDusen Gardens. It has a great little waterfall (http://www.flickr.com/photos/irschick/3552517778/) that is usually well shaded and has very easy access.

As with many/most of your images Bruce, this is a superb composition and execution. A fabulous example of what we can aim to achieve. <3 it !
