    Thanks Ginger and Melissa. To blur water you want long exposure (1/4 second to 2 seconds or so). Get long exposures by going to lowest ISO and smallest aperture (largest number) and see if you can get to 1/4 sec or even longer. The longer the more blur/foam look to water. For this scene at ISO 100 and f/22 I was getting a shutter speed of 0.25 sec. At that shutter speed water wasn't blurred enough. I then used exposure compensation to over expose +2/3 EV over meter reading for 0.33 sec exposure which blurred water better. To go even longer exposure (and not blow out highlights by over exposing) I would need to add a neutral density (ND) filter and mount camera on tripod. I was "lazy" with this shot and used IS in lens, held very still (human tripod) and shot several frames back to back. I really should have used the tripod, mirror lock up and cable release for this shot to get maximum sharpness. I was hot, wet and tired...thus "lazy".
