Arrival: Stories, Mask & Movement

Hi Folks: Just heard about this. I'm going to try to be there if I can and thought others would be interested. Here's the writeup, from: http://www.icavictoria.org/arts/arrival

"Arrival: Stories, Mask & Movement is a theatre presentation based on five new immigrant stories of arrival. Real-life immigrant stories of what it has meant to settle in a new land, a country with a different language and culture. Stories of new and surprising experiences, stories of hope and triumph, stories of challenge and surmounting obstacles, stories of new beginnings…

The five stories represent the five continents of the world and are woven into a performance using movement, music and masks inspired by traditions from the countries where the stories originate. In addition, an exhibition of the stories and masks will be available to tour starting in November 2013.

This project is a partnership with the Greater Victoria Public Library."

Well, it wasn't what I expected it to be, but it was both very powerful and very moving. And thanks, Danny, for coming over to introduce yourself!

We are enriched by living in a cultural mosaic. A thought-provoking presentation, very much enjoyed it. Thanks for suggesting it, Mike!

This event sounds fascinating, thanks for pointing it out! I wasn't sure how the registration for this event works, so I registered directly through the GVPL website, in addition to confirming my attendance here. Wanted to let you know so I'm not counted twice.

Thanks, Danny. For an event like this we won't be collecting attendance - too complicated in a large crowd - mostly I just wanted to let people know about it.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
