Dr. Ted Grant has graciously agreed to speak to us about his ongoing adventures in photography. Here is a brief Bio of Ted's long career.

In 2008 Ted Grant, one of Canada's most accomplished photojournalists with more then 280,000 images held in the National Archives of Canada, was honored by the University of Victoria with an Honorary Doctorate of Laws Degree in recognition of his remarkable career.

The above number of images are enhanced by 100,000 images in the National Gallery of Canada?s Museum of Contemporary Photography. These images combined create the largest collection by an individual photographer in the history of Canada

In 1999 Grant, along with fellow photographic legend Yousuf Karsh, received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award from the Canadian Association of Photographers and Illustrators in Communications.

Referred to as the father of Canadian photojournalism who has been creating iconic images for over half a century, quietly clicking with ?the eye of an artist, the concentration of a surgeon, and the reflexes of a cat?. Dr. Grant has covered international assignments from Vietnam to the children of Chernobyl. The Olympics, Winter & Summer and innumerable other international sports events

Ted Grant's outstanding reputation as a photojournalist and commercial photographer spans a career of 60 years. He has covered major news and sports events, political campaigns and his books range from cowboys of the west to the international medical scene in his ? This is Our Work. The Legacy of Sir William Osler? a master piece book.

Grant has published eight books, three of them dedicated to the work of medical professionals. In 2003 Doctors' Work: The Legacy of Sir William Osler was republished, followed in 2004 by Women in Medicine: A Celebration of Their Work, co-authored with Sandy Carter.

BRAVO TV produced a documentary film about this outstanding photographer?s life recording the events and history of Canadian?s

Still actively engaged in a profession he loves with great passion, this 80 year old is about to embark on a major book project on medical students in training. A three continent project of a year.
