Thanks for that Mike. If your highlights are completely blown this technique is about all you can do. If your image has a bit of detail, I think my technique (http://alanklughammer...­) will retain more detail, but it is a bit more convoluted. I am working on a portrait I took yesterday. Maybe I will update the blog post with examples...
I still bow down to you as the Lightroom master though... I wish I could have made the lesson today... I might buy you a tea someday so I can pick your brain...

Hi Alan: That sounds great! The blog posts I do are mostly for people who don't have access to Photoshop (and hence no layers).
