Create a gelatin silver print from a negative.
During this workshop, you will work in the darkroom with Atsushi Fujiwara to create a gelatin silver print of image from his “NANGOKUSHO” series. (See below.) Fujiwara-san is offering a choice between three of his photographs and he will sign the final image. Alternately, you can bring their own negative and hand-make a photograph with Fujiwara-san's assistance.
This is a great opportunity to experience a traditional photographic darkroom for the first time with an experience photographer. Sessions will start at 11h00 and continue through until approximately 16h00. To reserve your time in the darkroom, please contact Luigi Clavareau by email: [masked], or by telephone: [masked]
“NANGOKUSHO” (ode to the southern lands of Japan) by Atsushi FUJIWARA
Any sense of emptiness from Atsushi’s photographs must be understood to be the emptiness of post-war Japan. “NANGOKUSHO” is a photo essay that explores what is currently there in the Kagoshima and Okinawa of post-war Japan looking for his grandfather’s Kagoshima and beloved Okinawa.
