Extreme Photography isn't about shooting supermodels while dangling from a helicopter, it's about taking the best practices of photography and doing them all the time. The main purpose of this group is to meet regularly and discuss our photos, sort of like a bookclub, but for photos. As people talk about their photos learning will naturally take place and ideas will flow. Other activities, like field trips, will be left to the many excellent photography clubs in Greater Vancouver.
The About page has more information on what Extreme Photography is, but one thing needs to be made clear: this is not about critiquing photos. Critiques do more harm than good. Instead, people will just talk about what they like and dislike about the photos. The creator of the photo is free to accept or reject what is being said because everyone's opinion's is equal.
I've been an amatuer photographer for five years and I firmly believe that the best way to learn is to take lots of photos and talk with your fellow photographers about them.
