I think the strongest element is the color, and the strong oppositional geometry between blocks of uniform color. Rothko meets Monet. I love the pop of blue contrasting with the red and green. Fabulous.

Speaking of Rothko, I wonder if that bit of sky would be so distracting if it were red?

@Carmel- Love Rothko! @Bill- oooooh. Could be some really cool manipulation there. Definitely would tie up the composition a bit. Strenghth= the color story, and the negative abstract shapes... I almost feel like I'd love this without the flower just as much! It could also be intriguing in black and white to add to it's minimalistic abstraction. Distracting- I would have liked to have see more of a cross over of the flower into the white shape.

Strenght: I love how you can pick out one strong color for your photos. The other strength is how the flower crosses two strong colrs. Distracting: The bright red is centered vertically. If you cropped some of the top, you could strengthen the composition. It would also minimize the distracting curve--but keep the patch of blue in the upper right.

Like the colors. That little bit of the flower crossing the line is distracting for me. I think if the flower wasn't in the frame, as Carly suggests, that blue corner would immediately take my eye right out that corner.
