Psychedelic light paintings anyone?

Anyone interested in playing with light sticks to create some interesting images? I found a few pictures by a photographer called David Gilliver, who made a number of interesting photos. And now I want to try it out as well.
You could take a look at some of his pictures of the Channel Island of Guernsey here : http://www.theblogismine.com/2011/05/17/psychedelic-light-paintings-by-david-gilliver-big-picture/

We meet outside the Restaurant Aristo. Address is Islands Brygge 42300 Copenhagen, Denmark. If you can't make it at. 6.30 pm, then just come when you can :D

Do not miss this fantastic photo weekend. Unfortunately, we can only join via facebook and it is written in Danish http://www.facebook.com/events/102762103252956/

You can also use an app such as iPhone Holographium to create 3d text while making a long exposure. http://holographium.com/

Now that we're on Daylight Savings time, it might be a good idea to change the time to an hour later. http://golden-hour.com/ says the golden hour starts at 19:05 and ends at 19:54. It'll probably be hard to do much light painting when the sun is still up.

Hello again! Surprise surprise it is snowing and I am not sure if it will continue snowing the whole day. I am leaning towards postponing the event to the 4th of April. Same time same place? What does the rest say? I was really looking forward to today...d'oh!

Now that my calendar has been cleared for today anyways... if there is any-one who can't make it on the 4th, or wants to go twice, send me a message. I have some light sticks.

Hello! It might be a bit cold on Thursday evening, so remember to have extra layers on for insulation :) Looking forward!

Another thing we can use is one of those phone/pad apps that sets your whole screen to a single colour that you can choose from the whole spectrum

Great :) Just let us know how much it cost per stick, so we can figure out how many we individually want - and how much moolaah to bring ;) Thanks again, Jens!

If anyone is up to playing with hand held sparklers as well, let me know... I could order some from amazon.

Sounds like fun, but will city center not be too bright-lighted to give a good result? (Too many moving lights around) Maybe it will work better in a park or, as suggested, Islands Brygge.

Looks difficult! Can I suggest we start before it is fully dark in order to get some balance between the lighting on the sticks and the background. If it is too light at the start then we can always wait for darkness, but if it is already too dark then we have longer to wait for sunrise :) Sunset on the 21st will be around 18.25 I think

We could do that :) I could actually fancy going to Islands Brygge to take some pictures as we wait for the sun to set!
