Free Class: Creating a Website

What is the purpose of a website?

This is a question my new students frequently ask, and for good reason.

Join us as we answer this question, and teach you how to make a free website using Portfoliobox. During this class you will be able to work alongside your instructor to create your own website.

Instructions(in addition to RSVPing):

1. Register here:

2. Follow this link: and complete the easy and automated website startup process

3. Email your website URL to your instructor at [masked]

Note: You should have at least 6 images in your gallery. You only need to have one gallery ready for this class.

In this class you will learn:

·  The importance of having a website

·  How to start branding your business

·  How to select a portfolio

·  What Portfoliobox offers and how to use it

·  How to set up your menu and website navigation

*Bring your laptop, charger, and an external drive with a collection of images you would like to put on your website if you would like to follow along.

Exactly what I needed to get a basic understanding, which was the goal. The class time was too short to get in depth, which I totally understand. The instructor was very good and passionate about his field.

Hello everyone! I'm looking forward to teaching you how to create a website tomorrow! I just sent out an email with important information about his class, so be sure to check it! I included a screenshot of the free parking available at the Downtown Technology Center. You can also see a larger version of the screenshot here:[masked]

Hello Ua: I just looked at my web site. I want to remember how to use it. I have images that I want to remove and add some new one. Do I need to send you 6 additional ones? I do want to make this a useable site that I can be proud of.

Dear Ua, I already have a website but I am not able to add or subtract/change anything on the site. The person that set up my website initially has all the codes and power to do these things. I am about to the update that website with the web person. I would like to take this class but am not sure if I want to replace my present website or have two??? Can you help with educating me about what to do? Thanks, Beth Thomas

Beth, Once you have finished this class you will be able to make those decisions. Depending on what you need from a website, it is very possible that you would just need one! I will send you a private message and we can talk about this in more detail. -Ua

I would like to finish what I started at the previous session. I have forgotten my web address. I would like to have it up and running.
