It looks like this meetup was triggered independently from the group and then moved around a bit, leading to considerable confusion. Sorry that we (organizers) didn't catch this sooner!
We're going to reset things for this meetup and send folks over to the North Market on Saturday at 1pm.
If you've never been, the North Market is a great urban location with lots of activity and interesting things to shoot. It's also got more lunch options than you can shake a stick at!
Head over this weekend around lunchtime, find some tasty food, and head upstairs around 1pm. We'll stake out some spots towards the North end and hang out for the next hour or so catching up on technology, photography, or anything else that comes up.
By 2:30 or 3:00pm, assuming the weather cooperates with us, we'll duck out and head somewhere nearby for a group wandering photography session. Last year we went north into the Short North through the park - perhaps this year we'll go South into the Arena District and get some skyline shots from North Bank Park.
Parking downtown, especially on a weekend is going to be - delightful. There is a lot at the North Market, but you have to validate your parking inside. The meters are short - but plentiful.
There are surface lots just west of the North Market, and if you don't mind a bit of a hike, consider the Arena District parking lots since odds are good we'll wander back that way afterwards.
Also, let me take a moment to plug our local camera stores - MPEX, Columbus Camera Group and especially the World of New and Used Photography (which now, as the name suggests is a dealer for new camera gear like Canon as well.)
They're a great place to shop to help ensure we keep a vibrant community of local options for our shared interest in photography.
Hope to see you all this weekend!
