The intention of this group is firstly to learn and practise photography in various settings...how fun. Of course it is fun to meet people and share ideas and see new things. Our group will be a great group of people committed to learning photography, teaching photography, and having fun. Group members must own a SLR Camera, which is the type of camera where you can remove the lens and interchange it if desired. Ownership of a SLR camera is a requirement of becoming a member. Group get togethers will be 1 meeting every 2 weeks, on the weekend...Saturday.

Anyways, to describe this North Van Photography & Socialize meetup group more, here it is:
We can learn shutter speed and how it affects photos.
The aperture and how it affects the sharpness of photos, and also depth of field.
There's also stuff like using a flash to enhance photos, taking pictures of moving water at different shutter speeds, using your camera's ISO setting to get the right shutter speed for your lens' focal length (so photos don't turn out blurry, or too noisy).

If you have a macro/micro lens, perhaps we can experiment with very close up shots of flowers, bugs, and whatever.
Of course, one of the most interesting and fun photos is the Portrait style.
Actually, perhaps one of the most important features of making a good photo is composition. What do you enjoy seeing in a photo?
So, all in all, we will meet at great locations and take photos. Each day we will try to learn something that will teach us to understand how our camera works.


Anyone who is currently in a photography group that is not meeting as frequently as you wish, you are welcome to join, if you are committed to photography.
