Duke Chapel Night Shots III

Hi Everyone ~ We had such a nice really really free market meetup this a few Saturdays ago, I thought I would schedule NEARLY Free Night Photography Meetup.  I figured we could meet in front of the Bryan Center at Duke University.  From there, its a very short walk over to Duke Chapel.

Afterwards, we can grab a cup of coffee and/or a bite to eat either in the Bryan Center or head over to Whole Foods on Main and Broad in Durham.

There are some great photo opportunities to be had shooting outside around Duke Chapel.  If there's nothing going on in the Chapel we can wander in there and get some shots too.

If folks want to try to meet earlier to make it easier to show up right after work, we can do that too, just let me know.

Here's a shot I got a week or so ago.

Oh yeah, don't forget your tripods.  if you don't have one, don't worry, I'll have a couple of extra and I will be more than willing to share mine.

While my intention was to not have this be an instructional meetup, I will be there to offer some night shot basics at the beginning of the meetup should anyone be interested.

Great! My first time seeing the chapel and the clouds offered some great scenes. As always, Jim is the best!!!

I found the evening to be very productive...Jim Northrup provided helpful recomendations when taking evening outdoor pictures. I enjoyed the group. We shared the same interests.

Fantastic - a feast for the eyes. The pictures turned out better than expected, so I'm pleased.

We can shoot inside the chapel as long as there's nothing going on in there.

Jim, I would love to take this class but I am as dumb as dirt right now but I am willing for any help to learn. Just got a D5100 and I have only had it one week. I also work at Duke and would love to take some of these shots. Thanks Robin.

I am looking forward to it...I have reviewed the videos that came with the camera and I am hoping that practice makes perfect.

I am slightly smarter than dirt but I have a Sony Camera so I would be little help. I am just learning the basics of manual settings.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
