Let's Shoot Widow Falls at Stone Mountain State Park west of Winston. It's about a two hour drive, but it will prove to be an awesome location to get some nice shots of the falls and some of little tributary falls.

I am not sure of what you are used to, but my workshops will include the following:
1 hour of "classroom" instruction to also include one or two custom handouts tailored to waterfall photography. (If we all fit in one car, the car will be a rolling classroom and we can talk shop on the way up to the meetup.)
2 hours of shooting with periods of one on one instruction during the shoot.
1 hour of post shooting classroom instruction.
Stone Mountain Park is a bit of a drive. We can all rendezvous in downtown Hillsborough at the Parking Deck and carpool from that location as we head west past Winston and on to Widow Falls. My car can fit 3 passengers and gear comfortably and 4 passengers less comfortably. I am more than happy to car pool for this trip.
I am limiting this meetup to 7 photographers in order for me to be able to provide the best one on one instruction as we start shooting.
Necessary equipment?????: Any point and shoot camera or DSLR will do. A camera with manual settings will do best for getting the "perfect" shot. Tripods are not mandatory, but will be extremely helpful. I can show folks how to steady their cameras without tripods and I will have 2 or 3 extra tripods available for those folks that don't have their own. Email me with your equipment questions.
Here's a shot I got last fall at Widow Falls.
This is a small section of the falls.
I am requiring that photographers pay to sign up for this meetup. I will do the meetup no matter how many attendees show up. The only refunds that will be available for this meetup will be for photographers that show show up and don't think it was worth the money. No questions asked. I will offer a refund to any and all participants if they are not absolutely satisfied with the workshop. No refunds for cancellations, although I will consider hardship cancellation on a case by case basis.
Finally, each person is responsible for his or her own equipment and well-being. Neither Meetup.com nor I will be held responsible for anything other than providing a fun learning environment and an awesome photography lesson. :-)
