I moved to LA last summer and have been looking for new ways to explore California, preferably with camera in hand.
Salton Sea, Catalina
I'd like to do more night time photography too
Hello Helen, I am looking to crew with people in Marina del Rey. I keep a pack ready to go sailing to not waste time looking for gear. I'm launching a website to see if site can buy a Irwin 38 to modify to cruise an estimated 3,300 miles of navigation rivers/canals in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Holland, Belgium, France, Swiss lowlands and I hope the wide canals in UK. This requires using a Scheel shallow draft keel & tabernacle mast to go under low bridges. I like taking photos also.
Thanks for joining! Watch for upcoming meetups in January of the new year. We look forward to sharing our passion for nature photography with you!
Helen I really only have a couple of words to describe how I feel "wow" is one, thank you again are a couple of others. I say wow because I love the pjotos you and Derek posted, I should join the group so I can add mine to the album-we all capture the moments differently but the feeling of all the pics has a consistent continuity. I see though that the group's about to close for lack of an organizer. that cost $75. should we talk about pooling money to keep it going?
my how resourceful you are! the more the merrier. looking forward to the Meetup
Helen, please confirm tomorrow or I'll have to cancel. you can't really have a "meetup" with only 1 person-lol
I just posted it.
hi Helen. here's the deal:we could post the suggested meetup, that's no problem but with the date just two days from now I'm not sure what kind of attendance would be reasonable. additionally have a schedule conflict but I could change my plans...how "gung ho" are you?
Welcome to LADP Helen. Thanks for joining up. We hope to meet you soon.
at least we've put the idea out there so we'll think on it more and make something happen. that'll give me more time to learn how to work the camera and get more consistent results. that is unless you want to try maybe doing an afternoon/evening shoot on the 21rst. that's the solstice-longest day of the year!
