Re: [photo-922] Should I buy a Pentax K-5?

Next release of Nikon full frame won't even come close to $1500 ($2500+).  You can wait on new cameras for ever, and you will never catch up. The latest and greatest is not going to make one a better photographer.

I recommend getting a camera that fits your need now, and spend money on how to improve in photography.

Hi Tom,
Thanks very much for your advice.
After hearing from several people in our group, I decide to wait a little longer, when Nikon releases the next generation of Nikon DSLR full frame to replace D700, probably early 2012 or so.
Have a great day,
Jim.

For $1200 I would buy the Nikon D7000. Great low light, fast focus, great processor and great lens selection. Many pros are using it.

Hi,
I don't know if it is OK to send e-mail to the whole group like this, so I am sorry in advanced if it is not OK.
I am in a process of looking for a new DSLR camera, in a range around $700 - $1500.

By looking around and reading reviews, I am very impressed with the reviews about Pentax K-5, and plan to buy it. But before doing so, I would like to ask if anybody in our group use Pentax K-5, and do you have any advice/suggestion for me?

Thank you very much,
Jim.
