The Auckland PHP November Meetup

  • Nov 5, 2009 · 6:00 PM

Topic: PHP Security attacks and protection with Drupal as an example

Speaker: Berend de Boer

Berend de Boer has used Drupal since 2004. He has participated in
building Drupal websites for local and international customers up to
the size of Fortune 500 companies. Berend has also a keen interest in
business process applications. Besides developing applications, Berend
also does performance tuning and security reviews of software and Unix
server environments.

About the talk:

A lot of things can be done wrong when programming PHP. But
Drupal has some very useful functionality that helps programmers to
write safer code. In this talk I will give a demonstration of a real
world attack against a site using plain PHP, and show how using the
Drupal API would have rendered this attack powerless. If you want to
see a cross site scripting (XSS) or SQL injection attack in action,
come along!
