New Meetup: October PHP Meetup - "Meet The CTO"

A former member
Announcing a new Meetup for The Auckland PHP Meetup Group!

What: October PHP Meetup - "Meet The CTO"

When: Thursday, October 14, 2010 7:00 PM

Where: (A location has not been chosen yet.)

Welcome back to PHP Meetup! To kick start things back into gear we'll be hearing from people running successful web-related companies that use PHP as a core technology.

Keri Henare, CTO (and hopefully Craig Boxall, Director) of PixelFusion will be talking about building client websites with PHP - their favourite tools, frameworks, tricks of the trade, and running a successful web development business in Auckland City.

James McGlinn, CTO for EventFinder (and founding member of the PHP Users Group) has been active in the PHP community for many years. James will give a bit of a history of EventFinder, how to manage a large codebase and some of the challenges running a web based business with PHP.

Please RSVP as soon as possible - the venue will be determined once we get an idea of numbers.

Call for Speakers

Note that I'm putting the schedule together for the next 6 months. We'd like YOU to speak! We'd particularly like to hear from people on the following topics:

  • Training & Certification options for PHP
  • New PHP features, new development and code tools
  • Running PHP centric web development companies or websites
  • Web Design and PHP / Database development and PHP / other cross-discipline issues

If you have a new project about to launch, why not talk about what you did, what worked and what was challenging?

We think PHP meetup is neat! If you agree, why not help sponsor an event? It costs next to nothing and you'll get a mention at the start of our monthly meetup and a space to put an ad on the meetup website.
