PHP & Tea VI

An important part of being a PHP developer is knowing a little about server configuration, so we're going to start with a discussion of development server strategies and what options are available to you for professional hosting options.

As a fun exercise, try to find out what version of PHP you're currently using personally and/or at your company. We could discuss strategies for taking advantage of PHP's newest features when the pace of upgrading is often glacial and how to code with practices that make upgrades less painful.

As always, bring your beginner, intermediate, and expert-level questions and we'll have a go at answering them all in that order to the best of our collective abilities.

I enjoyed meeting a wide range of PHP talent in my community. From novices to experts, this meetup provided something for everyone. It allowed for those more familiar with PHP to give back and help ease the pains of those who are just getting started... Some best practices and unique ideas were also shared. I will be meeting up with this group again!

Great discussion with a variety of skill and experience levels. People were open and willing to share resources and suggestions. If you are a web developer in the Metro Detroit area I highly recommend this group.

Good information. I have lots of notes and need to do some research about some of the stuff that was discussed. Since I am a beginner, it was great to hear what the pros had to say

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
