Re: [php-93] CMS recommendation

Nathan just provided a great example of the kind of system drupal would help you to build.

You'd likely have to spend some time themeing to support the listings area vs the regular content areas of their site, but it is also probably easier to push something like that out in Drupal than Joomla.  The advantage there is the contextual listing...whereas in Joomla your list publishing function would not be as robust.  For example...you could do a listings page like this:

http://milkbar.radialstudios.com/

With individual pages / properties loading up from the click on the list...but that tabling system wouldn't support sorting by price, date or region...you'd have to artificially create those by linking to categories (german village, hilliard, worthington, etc) separately

On that example, you could forseeably create a few layout templates with pre-built tables, titles, etc and then just store them, unpublished in the site for them to copy, edit, and then enable.  So some might have (for example) a virtual tour on the left, a title across, and then listing data under, others might have images along the left, etc.

Zen-cart wouldn't be the best thing to use in my opinion unless you are just very familiar with it.

I recently did a lite property listing feature for a local builder
http://brentwood.rambeck.com/properties

This is with Drupal. If I remember correctly it only required a few lines of theming code. Everything else was just configuration, using the CCK and Views modules with Drupal.

Of course, using Drupal has a learning curve as with any framework. It will, hands-down, offer the most flexibility beyond doing purely custom code.

I have a potential client, a real estate agent, that's looking for a

she's looking to do, but may requite some customization. I've used
zen-cart for some other retail sites I've built. Does anyone have any
other recommendations on a CMS that would work?
