Comet ISON @ Commonwealth Club SF

If you want to attend you have to purchase tickets in advance here:

Alex Filippenko, Professor of Astronomy, UC Berkeley
If it lives up to expectations, Comet ISON (more formally, C/2012 S1) may become the most spectacular comet to be seen from Northern Hemisphere skies since Comet Hale-Bopp in 1997. An award-winning astronomer and well-known popular lecturer, Professor Filippenko will describe comets and their importance, as well as when and how to observe this particular comet and what we might expect to see.

"Comet ISON is now visible with a good pair of binoculars! It's can currently be seen in the constellation of Virgo, and is best viewed just before sunrise.

On November 28th it will make make its closest approach to the Sun. IF it survives (cross your fingers) it should be visible to the naked eye through December. " via IFLS

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
