Announcing a new Meetup for Bay Area Physics and Astronomy Society!

What: Richard Feynman: Law of Gravitation - An Example of Physical Law

When: Tuesday, December 14,[masked]:30 PM

Where: Hacker Dojo
140B S Whisman Road
Mountain View, CA 94041
1-800-goog411

Thanks to Lawrence and the Hacker DoJo, we finally have a venue for viewing the Feynman Lectures.

About These Lectures:
Recently made available via Microsoft (Project Tuva), these are the Messenger Lectures given by Feynman at Cornell in 1964 and later on collected in the book, "The Character of Physical Law".

For this video, Dr. Richard Feynman discusses the law of gravitation as an example of a physical law. Even though for many of us, such concepts are very well known, it's still always inspiring to see Richard Feynman speak. Even for very fundamental concepts, he brings his own unique perspective that contain many insights into the inner-workings of nature, scientific thinking and how we go about gaining more knowledge about the universe around us.

A discussion will follow the video viewing.

This is our first attempt at this, but if all goes well - I hope that we will follow this with more viewings of the Feynman lectures and other discussions on Physics, Astronomy, Cosmology and similar topics. I'm also working on finding copies of the videos of The Feynman's Lectures on Physics, from the lectures he gave to his students at Caltech, that were later made into the marvelous three-volume set of books by the same name.

Hope to see you there!
