Well, the response to the Geminid meetup has been underwhelming.
I am still very interested, so if anyone out there wants to go, let me know. Call (415)[masked] or write [address removed].
I still don't have an actual location. My plan is to drive somewhere to the east; perhaps the Oakland/Berkeley hills, or perhaps as far as Mt. Diablo.
Also there is a mid-peninsula astronomy group called TAC (I think it stands for The Astronomy Club, or something like that). It's not a meetup group, but I think some folks from that group may be organizing some kind of get-together.
AND, coming soon, to a dark hillside near you is: A Total Lunar Eclipse!! I will send out meetup info as soon as I can.
And so remember... (a theramin has started playing)...watch the skies...watch, WATCH. Cause they're coming...
Check out speakers, attend workshops and DIY sessions, get together with amateur enthusiasts and professionals alike, and explore our Universe from the surface of a tiny rock teeming with psychotic apes!
Any topic relevant to physics, cosmology, astronomy, space sciences, natural sciences, engineering and speculation of our future is welcome.
