Last minute Bollywood movie post -- The movie set in the early 1980as, is coceptualised from a real-life daring heist on 19-March-1987 where an unknown man posing as CBI officer Mon Singh, recruited 26 men posing as income tax officers, masterminded and executed a daylight income tax raid on the Opera House branch of Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri, a prominent Jeweller in Mumbai, and disappeared with big haul of jewellery. This incident shocked jewellers across Zaveri Bazaar in Mumbai and the police were unable to apprehend any suspect. As the folklore goes, the unknown con-man was Natwarlal who sold the Taj Mahal, the Red Fort along with Rashtrapati Bhavan to unsuspecting investors. Natwarlal a master of disguises, used many aliases and novel ideas, to cheat a number of industrialists. Till the very end no one was able to catch him and remains a mystery even in his death.
All in all it sounds like a fun film. Yes, there will be English subtitles in the theater (I need them too). As usual of Bollywood movies expect singing, dancing, comedy, drama, romance all rolled up into one. Beyond the typical storyline, actors and actresses break into to song at the most improbable moments -- that alone should be enough to make you want to join us for this.
The movie is at 2:25pm, I'll meet you at 1:45pm in the lobby of the Waterfront Theater near ticketing. The movie sold out of Friday, which explains the early meet time. Let me know if you're going to be running late and I'll save you a seat. Movie run time is 2 hours and 40 minutes.
