CMU Faces of Media - You've Been Trumped

The 2013 Carnegie Mellon International Film Festival: Faces of Media will present 2011 documentary, You've Been Trumped, on Wednesday, April 10, at 7pm at the McConomy Auditorium in CMU’s University Center!  A screening of Dr. Paul Goodman’s short film, University President, will precede the featured film!  The event will also feature a panel discussion with Roger Rouse, Professor of History at CMU and a reception courtesy of East End Food Co-Op.

What happens when money is more powerful than people? In 2006, Donald Trump purchased an estate on the northeast coast of Scotland, planning to build a complex of golf courses, luxury flats, and a grand hotel. The local council rejected his proposal on account of its threat the area's precious, endangered ecosystem. However, the Scottish government overturned the decision and gave a green light to the development of the complex. This documentary explores the controversy that arose in the wake of this devastating decision and the 21st Century David and Goliath battle that ensued. You've Been Trumped is an entertaining, inspiring, and occasionally disturbing parable of our times and values.

Presented in conjunction with “Goodman Faces of Work”.

Regular Admission*:
$5 seniors and students | $8 general
* $3 discounted tickets for groups of 10 or more

I'm sorry that I can't make it tonight. I didn't realize that I have a conflict with another event. Sorry to have to miss it.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
