The Seventh Seal @ Melwood - $2 night!

Box office at 7:30, showtime 8:00

It helped create the international arthouse craze of the 1950s. While the Black Plague rages all around, a medieval knight (Max von Sydow) plays a game of chess with Death. Often imitated and parodied (Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure) but never equaled, this astonishing film features some of the most famous images – beautiful yet haunting – in the history of cinema. (Ingmar Bergman; Sweden; 1957; 96 min)

The local dollar theaters may be extinct, but our new monthly series of essential cinema might just fill the void. All seats $2 -- and our popcorn is affordable too!

Hi, I haven't seen this film before, so I'm looking forward to it...and to meeting everyone! Are we buying our tickets at the door or is there a website to order from? Thanks.

Pittsburgh Filmmakers' regular tickets are on sale at the box office located in each theater 30 minutes before film time. The box office opens at 7:30 pm, and it's $2 for this particular film. We will congregate in the lobby near concessions until about 7:50 pm.
