Dining with strangers, and making new friends: When you join Dining N' At, you'll have the opportunity to dine at a variety of restaurants in the Greater Pittsburgh area! Together, we'll discover some incredible new places and delicious cuisine. It brings me great pleasure to share these places with you, the members. I invite you to come to a local dining and other related event to break bread n' at with fellow foodies and gourmets. Discover new restaurants, enjoy delicious meals, listen to live entertainment and make satisfying conversation with friendly dinner companions. This group is intended for singles and couples AGE 21 AND OVER.

Future Questions: If you ever have any questions about a specific event, please contact the event's HOST, listed in the event details under "SELECTED BY" or at the top of the RSVP list under "EVENT HOST." Click on the person's name, which is a LINK to his/her profile page. From that page, click "Send Email" to send that person your question. I am the main organizer for the group, but I can't answer questions about someone else's event. I have a wonderful team of assistant organizers who do a great job of planning a wide variety of dining and other events.
RSVP Etiquette: Please honor your RSVP! Our event planners do a lot of work to organize events. Please treat the group with the same respect you would show your own family and friends. If you RSVP "YES" and later find you can't attend, please change your RSVP to "NO" ASAP. If something comes up at the last minute, please call the event planner (if he/she has given a phone number) or call the restaurant or venue. Someone there can give your message to the event planner.
FYI: It is not necessary to RSVP "No" for events you can't attend. This is ONLY needed when you change from a "Yes" RSVP to a "No" RSVP.
Wanted: Event Planners! I am always looking for new people to become Event Planners for Dining N' At. If you are interested in planning events, please send me an email with your phone number and the best time to reach you. I will call and explain the duties of this volunteer position. It's fun and very rewarding, but there is some responsibility involved, which I would explain over the phone. (Most of it is common sense, like making reservations at restaurants, asking in advance if they will write separate checks, etc.) My email is: dnalansky AT yahoo.com. You can also email me from my Meetup profile page.
Wanted: Event Suggestions! If you have a great idea for a future Dining N' At event, please send me an email and share your thoughts. I'm always looking for new and interesting restaurants to dine in, and places to explore in the Pittsburgh area.
My Philosophy: It is my personal philosophy to avoid CHAIN RESTAURANTS like the plague, so you will not find any of my events taking place in that type of establishment. However, my assistant organizers (Event Planners) are free to choose any location that suits them. I prefer to support small "Mom & Pop" type local businesses here in the Pittsburgh area. The food is usually better, if not outstanding! Small, one-of-a-kind restaurants offer a unique experience that can't be duplicated.
My Faves: Some new favorites are Tin Front Cafe in Homestead near the Waterfront, Pan Alma Latin Kitchen in Regent Square, and Smiling Banana Leaf in Highland Park. I will occasionally go to a "small chain" restaurant, such as Mad Mex, because they started in Pittsburgh, and still base their operations here...and their food is REALLY DELICIOUS!
Thank you for your interest in Dining N' At. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions, thoughts or suggestions for the group. I look forward to meeting you at future events.
Best regards,
Deena Alansky, Main Organizer
