Zombie Halloween Hash! (Trail Walk/Run with Zombies!)

The Zombie Halloween Hash! (Fun Trail Walk/Run! With Zombies!)

The Pittsburgh Hash House Harriers, a drinking group with a trail running problem is having a Zombie Halloween Hash!  What is a Hash? Glad yinz asked.  A hash is a trail (walking/running) planned by the Hares by marking the trail with flour marks (or tape) where the Hounds (everyone else) try to figure out where the trail leads via the marks (over hill, shiggy, dale, swamp, railroad track etc) till you see the wonderful sign of “BN” (Beer Near) and you take a break an socialize, drink water, beer and snacks usually available at a Bar, or they supply Rations (Beer, Water, Snacks, Jello Shots) on the Trail.  Then you go to the next Stop.  For the Pittsburgh Hashers, there are 2-3 Hashes planned a week!  With usually about 20-60 Hashers on Trail (Pittsburgh Hashers are a pretty active group). The Ratio of Men/Women Hashers is usually about 55%/45% so it’s pretty equal.  FYI: Hashers are a lil bit Raunchy, like to have fun but are also a big wonderful family of people who will earn your trust and are darn amaaazing!  So Take a chance! Go Hashing with US!  It is a fun workout with awesome people!

This Hash is going to be an amazing time, with zombies trying to catch us trail runners/walker to turn us into zombies!  This is the perfect time for NEW BOOTS (new Hashers) to join up and have fun!  All Hashers are Half Minds!  Shiggy in Pittsburghese is known as Jaggers N’at otherwise known as thorns.  At the end the Hashers serenade the New Boots and do a toast along with them!  At the bottom of page is links to the Pgh Hasher page and the History of the Hash House Harriers (they’ve been around since before WW2 and they are ALL OVER THE WORLD!).

What: The Zombie Halloween Hash! (Fun Trail Walk/Run! With Zombies!)

Where: Start and END (Après) will be at the VFW, Post 188 -- 215 N 2nd St, Duquesne, PA 15110 (Right off of Route 837, Duquesne Blvd)

When: Friday, October 18th, 6:30pm

Why:  Prepare yourself for there will be a major outbreak of a highly contagious virus at the Fool Moon running of the Pittsburgh Hash House Harriers.  This virus will induce a highly sexual desire to attack and devour bimbos and other half minds (perfectly acceptable Hash behavior).  These mindless zombie beings will be lurking the streets of beautiful Downtown Duquesne quickly spreading the virus to men, women, children, brides, cheerleaders, clowns, housewives, prom queens, midgets on unicycles — any half mind they can get their hands on.  Unfortunately, the zombies can never be satisfied with the brains of mere half minds and will have to quench their thirst with beer in the post-apocalyptic world know as the après.

Who: You, your hashing brothers and sisters, your virgins and your hares: Slow Ride & Squirreleo

The Skinny(the rules):

Trail will be prelaid with many false trails.Dress up however you like.

Remember if you are slow you might become a zombie.Bring a few dollars.

You might need it to drink at the beer stop.Your hares and three others will be initially chosen as zombies before trail starts.

Three zombies will be released early so as to plant themselves on falses.Humans will be issued glow bracelets which must be visibly worn at all times while in a human state.

Human’s can begin running trail after chalk talk (the start)

Two zombies will give the humans a seven minute head (who said) start then begin running trail trying to catch humans If a human gets tagged by a zombie, the human surrenders their glow bracelet and counts to 50 (one brain, two brain, three brain… fifty braaaaaaaains.) then magically transforms into a zombie:

Zombies must always be either lurking down false trails or moving forward on true trail unless previously chasing a human forward or along a false.

Zombies may not going back down true trail hunting for slower brains… let them cum down a false to you.

Safe zones (close to the beer stop and around busy, dangerous intersections) are marked with an “S”.

Zombies cannot tag humans in safe zones and must give humans a 50 count (one brain, two brain, three brain… fifty braaaaaaaain.) head start before chasing them again out of the safe zone.

Zombies please play nice... no kicking, punching, shoving, tackling, spitting on, throwing stuff at, etc the humans. A simple touch is all it takes.

Human’s please play nice... no kicking, punching, shoving, tackling, spitting on, throwing stuff at, etc the zombies

If a human makes it to the beer stop they will be awarded an extra life (an extra bracelet).

The object is to make it to the beer stop and back to the après as a human with at least one glow bracelet.

Prizes may or may not be awarded but bragging rights are priceless.Okay, the real object is to get out on a Friday night and have a bunch of fun with your Hash family. Hope to see everyone there.
