Gallery Crawl in the Cultural District

Art. Music. Dance. Architecture. Film. Networking. Fun. FREE!

The Gallery Crawl is a free quarterly showcase of art and entertainment in the heart of the Cultural District. All events take place at a variety of galleries and spaces and are FREE and open to the public. The event is ongoing between 5:30 and 9:00 pm, and patrons may start at any location.

This Gallery Crawl is different from the others during the year. It precedes Cosmopolitan Pittsburgh, a large party that is NOT FREE ($50). Of course you are welcome to do just the Gallery Crawl without attending Cosmopolitan Pittsburgh later in the evening.

If you volunteer for this particular Gallery Crawl, or for Cosmopolitan Pittsburgh, you probably will get a free ticket to go to the Cosmopolitan Pittsburgh party.

We're expecting a big crowd for the Gallery Crawl and Cosmopolitan Pittsburgh. It will be an exciting night in the Cultural District! I suggest you plan to arrive as early as possible. Here is the complete schedule and map of activities from 5:30-9 PM for the Gallery Crawl which features 27 locations

As you walk downtown, you will clearly see Red signs in front of Gallery Crawl locations. So you can pop in or spend a bit more time at each stop depending on your interests. Here is one suggestion:
6-6:30 Wood Street & SPACE Galleries
6:30-7 Shaw Gallery & Harris Theater
7-7:45 Arcade Comedy & August Wilson Center
    7:45-8:30 GPAC & 707/709 Penn Gallery & Night Market (8th & Penn)
8:30-8:55 Katz Plaza (live band) or Renaissance Hotel (cooking demonstration) or Verve (kNOT Dance show)
8:55-9 PM walk to Byham Theater for Cosmopolitan Pittsburgh

For those that will be driving into town, here is a website and phone app which shows in real-time the availability of downtown parking garages.

Hey everybody! I am a performer down at the Arcade Comedy Theatre at 811 Liberty Ave, right next to the Harris Theatre. We will be having a fun variety of comedy going during the whole gallery crawl. Stop in and say hi! I'll be the really tall, really skinny guy making a fool of himself.

If anyone is interested in Cosmopolitan Pittsburgh, there is a discount available if you buy your tickets in advance. The ticket includes all food, drinks, and a wide variety of entertainment and activities -- and while it is not free, it is less than what a typical full evening in the Cultural District might cost factoring in food, drinks, entertainment, etc. Here is the link with all the details

I've volunteered the past several years - you can volunteer either for the Gallery Crawl or to help out Cosmopolitan. Either way, you get into Cosmopolitan for free. I believe that all the volunteer spots are filled now. I'll be stamping passports in the Gallery Crawl. If you want to get on the mailing list for soliciting volunteers, email me and I can give you a contact name.
