What most interests you about the the various French-speaking cultures? Their cuisine, their cinema, their music? Or simply the French language?

The inquisitive nature of the French! and of course the language.

If you speak French, what is your proficiency level? False beginner, advanced beginner, intermediate, advanced, native?

Advanced, I like to think.

What types of activities are you likely to participate in? Weekly conversation groups, movie nights at a movie theatre or a member's home, brunch or dinner, potlucks at a member's home, French-lang book club, symphony/opera of France, suggestions?

Weekly conversation groups and book club are most interesting, but all activities are great! I was used to going to a lot of expos and cultural events in Paris, so if anything like an art exhibit comes up or a conference by a French author or intellectual, I would be interested as well!

If you have spent time in a French-speaking country, where was it and what was your reason for being there?

7 months in Auvergne and 3 years in Paris, France. The first experience was an English teaching assistantship in primary schools and the past three years in Paris was for the completion of my Master's degree and one year work/volunteering.

Would you care to share an anecdote as to what first inspired your interest in French, or perhaps an interesting story from your travels abroad?

The anecdotes will probably resurface through conversation. What first inspired me to learn French was just the melody of the language itself, I was instantly enchanted.

Recently completed a Masters in French in Paris and coming back to Pitt after 3 years. Would love to stay connected to French everything and especially keep speaking French. :)
