Living a Joyful Veg Life

This workshop centers on the building blocks of a happy and productive
life: mission management (to figure out your authentic goals and path);
time management (so you can develop a schedule that helps you focus on
your goals); and fear management (so you can get past procrastination,
perfectionism and blocks to success). More specifically:

Mission Management: the importance of authenticity, why denial and
self-deprivation don't work, forces that act against authenticity and
how to overcome them, and the importance of maintaining a realistic
(not grandiose or romanticized) view of activism, and yourself

Time Management: why it's important, problems with the "average
American schedule," process for managing time, and strategies
for reclaiming time

Overcoming Procrastination, Perfectionism, Fear and Blocks: what
procrastination is, what causes it, characteristic behaviors
(perfectionism, negativity, hypersensitivity, panic), false solutions,
true solutions

The workshop leader, Hillary Rettig is an activist, coach and author of
The Lifelong Activist: How to Change the World Without Losing Your Way
(Lantern Books, 2006). She is also author of the free e-book The Little
Guide To Beating Procrastination, Perfectionism and Blocks: a Manual
for Artists, Activists, Entrepreneurs, Academics and Other Ambitious
Dreamers. You can download the e-book and learn more about Hillary's
life and work at www.lifelongactivist.com.

    •  Hillary was an interesting and engaging speaker. I hope to utilize the points that she stressed in order to lessen the procrastination in my life.
    •  Hillary was a dynamic speaker with a good sense of humor, a fun lecture.
    •  Hillary was very interesting and gave a nice presentation.
    •  Very intersting speaker. I even bought her book!
    •  It was fine as a lecture topic, but I really thought that the title was misleading-- I thought it was going to have something-- anything!-- to do with being vegan, and it really didn't. There wasn't much of a tie-in at all.
    •  While I respectfully disagreed with the speaker on some points, it's always interesting to hear alternative views on things.

       The speaker was great.
