I've been a vegetarian since 2000 and a vegan since 2011.
Mad Mex just offered a vegan "cheesecake" so they just nudged aside the Double Wide Grill as my favorite. If Aladdin's had a vegan cake option they would win hands down in my opinion.
I am the only vegan in my family. My husband happily eats whatever I cook and put in front of him, and has tried to reduce his meet intake overall.
I'm Executive Director of an animal welfare organization called WearWoof. Our mission is to end pet homelessness in Western PA by providing funding and support to local shelters and rescues. In addition to our traditional fundraising endeavors, we will open a better/designer women's resale shop in the North Hills this spring. Proceeds from sales will fund our grants and emergency fund program. Our support extends to farm animal sanctuaries, as well. We hope that our efforts will help to make the charitable giving pie for animal welfare in Pittsburgh bigger, thus bringing more funding and attention to the issue and effectively ending the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable pets in our region. WearWoof's web site is www.wearwoof.org for those interested in learning more about our mission.
I'm looking to connect with other people who are passionate about the benefits of an animal-product-free diet both from an ethical and health standpoint. I love to eat - especially baked goods - and have had to become a MUCH better cook since going vegan. If you want delicious plant-based cookies and cakes - I'm your girl! I've even "veganized" the traditional Johnstown Gob! It will be fun to meet others who have discovered the joys of vegan cooking, share recipes, tips and just generally have a good time without dairy, eggs or meat.
Hi! I'm Executive Director with an animal welfare organization called WearWoof. I'm passionate about animal welfare, travel, fashion and vegan cooking and baking and am looking to meet like-minded people in the City of Champions!
