Taguary!

The FUN! begins at 2:00 p.m. rain or shine. Shoes or no shoes. Wear your play clothes; mud stains are inevitable and are worn as a badge of honour. Expect to tease and be teased, run, jump and possibly slide! Laughter, sweat, grass stains and breathlessness are common side effects – though a well deserved euphoria kicks in eventually too. Hope to see you there!

1:45 Mix and mingle and set up the field
2:00 Let the games begin!
4:00 Wrap it up.

What you need:
Clothes you can get dirty in!
Shoes you can run in.
Layers (you will get hot, then cold)
Snacks (good enough for trading)
Water (juice if you're a fancy-pants) <--- We won't be able to bring any along.
A Twoonie to donate towards building the FUN.

Be aware that playing tag requires a whole lotta fast moves in every direction! The fun you're having can distract you from realizing the demand on your body. Be mindful of your limits; we do not have a first aid attendant at the park. Please come prepared with anything you may need to mend yourself.

Meet at CLARK PARK <--- click for map.

Clark Park is kinda laid out in tiers. The high end borders Commercial and 14th. The low end borders Maddams and 14th. We’ll meet at the lower end at 1:45pm.

If you’re walking up from the Broadway Station sky-train, there’s an entrance to the park on the corner of Commercial and 14th – just head downhill to find us. The park’s relatively small so if you get lost we reserve the right to tease you ;)

Oh, and, there’s no potty in the park. It may be good to show up on empty. Just saying…

This group is intended for adults (19+). We have no age cap; elders are welcome. If you would like to bring someone under 19 to the games, please email Chris or Michelle.

Oh, and I'll post the few photos I have probably tomorrow - it always takes me a while to coerce them onto the laptop...

Thanks everyone for being great sports today! There weren't many of us, but we played hard. The weather was fairly kind - preparing the field with lots of water, but mostly holding the rain off while we were playing. It was slippery and muddy - there were some awesome moves that you just couldn't do in the dry. And I learned some new games, which is always a bonus for me. Hope to see you all next time!

It was fun! There is just something about sliding throught the mud and not getting in trouble for it!

I don't know about you, but I meet the trouble at the end of every slide - when mother earth hit me somewhere.
      It was fun.

I didn't seat in the skytrain - didn't want to dirt the seats. And Burnaby is far farrrrr away. I didn't trash my jeans though - It's nothing the washing machine can't swallow.

I like the way people look at me on the Skytrain when I walk in all muddy. Finding a seat is mandatory. After all you have just fought GREAT BATTLES!

We have a small challenge for this meetup. Michelle has had to travel due to a death in the family, so we don't have the usual set of equipment. We will improvise, and have a great time regardless, but if people can bring things to mark the boundary, balls, etc, that would be a great help!

Don't worry Chris, I've got most of it covered and some of it involves monkeys! But as for the balls, I don't have any big ones...
