Hi All, glad to see we provoked some interest from people to apply at Gameloft. As I mentioned we are looking to hire for an entire new team within the studio. Please take a look on seek.co.nz to check jobs available...just do a search for Gameloft and you should see them all. For all of those I got to speak to after the presentation, best of luck on your applications.

Hi guys, Who were the two guys from Gameloft? I gave one of them my card and can't remember his name (the one in the suit jacket). The other one (green hoodie) go away before I could meet him (lol).
Anyway great meetup last night. Really cool to meet lots more people.
If anyone is looking for a writer/creative person, feel free to get in touch. I'm looking for a job in that capacity also. My email is [masked]

Hey all. Didn't get a chance to mention this but wanted the community to know that we are in the process of some rather exciting developments. I'm involved with a shared space in the city that is keen to get 'game devs' and/or 'artists' on board. We are rigging up the studio with a number of assets, these include: Occulus Rift DKII (soon)
3D scanners/photogrammetry equipment, with lighting, Lazy Susan etc. Aso hacked up a Kinect :)
High-end UAV airial drone (useful for photogrammetry)
DAW for in-game audio and music.
Shared licences for UE4/Creative Cloud etc.

We are of the mindset that seeing we have access to these amazing tools, that we can get some like minded people on board. This also lowers the overheads, outgoings, etc. So for about $80.00 a week, you have a dedicated work-space, divided if necessary with a great, social, relaxed communal area, even got an arcade machine. Most importantly, it's about having low expenditure while having access to high-end equipment. Allowing for maximum creativity.

HI, our 2 guys have just been to a training with Meta to integrate our app. They'll be back next week with 2 Meta headsets. This month might be a bit tight but we should look at doing a talk at the next meet-up. Just be aware that Augview is predominantly an infrastructure app. I'm working away on the AR wildlife park in Otorohanga...

HI Ben, Sam got back from Meta and unfortunately we have been asked to not show any of the headsets, not even photos.

If you took photos, could you fire them my way @ hello[a]thought-wired.com, it'll be nice to put a few on facebook etc. And do let us know if you'd like a presentation on the tech, current and future possibilities in gaming and other fields. See you next time!

Just wanted to say to all, as a new comer, had a very entertaining night tonight, it was very informative and am very impressed with the vibe, the organizers and am very humbled (and some what embarrassed) by how awesome the Oculus Rift was. Can't wait for my DKII! Would like to give a brief presentaiton, slideshow next month during Spotlight about the exciting world of 'photogrammetry'. Looking forward to it.

Hi Ben/Stephen, is this the best way/place to request/reserve a screen? Have a little something I've made this month for the #lowrezjam I'd like to show/play/test. I'll email you also if necessary. Thanks!

    May 30

    • Ben Tuhoe K.

Yea I don't even wanna think about. That can be for Tuesday me. And yes. Beer oclock.

      May 30

    • Bill B.

We used to happily give out $5 for meals. There'd be no harm in asking for a little again (as long as the sponsors didn't mind) if it's ever needed for "misc costs".

      p.s. Ascent has well-priced HDMI cables, .e.g.: http://www.ascent.co....

Looking forward to it! We'll be there as usual. This month we bring (proper) fire weapons. Strategic ignite fire sword spin attack go! Check 'em out: http://imgur.com/a/Ous6E

Ben, Stephen, I'm keen to bring a few brain-sensing headsets for hands-on demo after the formalities. How many screens are available in the foyer for the demos?

    May 28

    • Ben Tuhoe K.

Hey why not 3? More stuff to play with. No pressure, if you don't use all 3 I'm sure someone else will.

      May 28

    • Dmitry S.

Ok cool. We'll bring the headsets aand go from there.

  • David V.

remember to add your +n's for the meetup, ben was lucky to overplan last time but the rsvp's were a fair way off the actual attendees ;)
