6.00 Arrive and mingle
6.15 Narrative and Story Telling in Games
This month we have presentations and a panel discussion on Story in games and the once-mighty Adventure Games genre.
Story Glyphs: Delivering story whilst maintaining player freedom. Former Shortland St writer turned game writer (Path of Exile, Big Little Bang, City of Steam, 2ndCity) will discuss how to write good quests and integrate story context throughout a game.
Can we Fix Adventure Games? We look back fondly with rose-tinted glasses and nostalgia at past Adventure Games. But does point'n'click cut it in today's instant gratification and Freemium world? Stephen Knightly of InGame will kick off the panel discussion.
