Fun, intelligent company, and perhaps a warm-up for trying out for a play again in the near future. It's been too long!
Community & college plays as recently as '91. "Exit the King" by Ionesco (I played the King), "The Matchmaker" by Wilder (I was Malachi), "Born Yesterday" by Kanin (Ed Devery), "Blithe Spirit" by Noel Coward (Charles, two different productions), a few other shows.
I'll stick my neck out and admit that I'm a sucker for musicals. The singing makes me feel much stronger emotion. Beyond that I love Neil Simon, Shakespeare, and Ionesco, to name a few.
In fourth grade I got the lead part in a comedy spoof of "Sleeping Beauty." Hamming it up I threw in an unrehearsed pratfall and made the audience gasp. Luckily they realized it wasn't real and started laughing. At that point I knew I loved acting.
