New Year's Eve at M.Y. China!

Love Martin Yan or hate him, he now has a place in the Westfield mall, M.Y. China. The dinner menu looks a tad pricey, but, hey -- it's your last meal of 2012. Make it count. And for sure, it'll be cheaper than Hakkasan, the global gourmet Chinese chain that just opened up a few blocks away, at Kearny and Market. (Pretty devastating comments with that blog post!)

Some nice writeups about M.Y. China here, including this one from SFGate. Wild boar scissor cut noodles sound pretty good, as do honey glazed lamb chops. That's the old classic, honey glazed walnut prawns, pictured at left.

It's the fourth floor of the mall, so you know how to get there. Powell BART and Muni work, as well as all Market and Mission street lines. With an 8 p.m. rez, we'll be out early enough that you can get to whatever midnight mischief you're planning with time to spare.

As always, we frown on late cancellations in this group, and there's never any excuse for flaking. Please afford those people on the waitlist who would like to come the opportunity to do so; they'd do the same for you. Your fellow diners, the waitlisters and the restaurant all appreciate it.

Thanks, and let's get in the holiday spirit!

Wonderful NY eve! The food was delicious, the company excellent, and the conversation interesting. Much thanks to David for organizing and bringing the vino! Thanks for the port Justyna and the champagne Al which helped to keep us warm during the fireworks!

Like in the building close, yes. Powell Street has entrances into the mall, then just keep moving up the escalators.

Paula, try this link. Looks like they may change it from time to time, not sure. I'll fix the above link too. http://mychinasf.com/sites/default/files/menus/MYC_Menu_DINNER.pdf

I was just going to suggest that! Someone can check with M.Y. China to see if they have another table for 6 or 8 ... I think that's entirely possible.

If the waitlisters want to get together and plan an alternate dinner let me know. I am open to suggestions.

Hi, I get a Page Not Found response when I click on the Dinner Menu link above. Does it work for other folks?

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
