Do you miss the Wat Thai Temple food fair that was held in North Hollywood several years ago? When that place was closed down due to traffic issues, the void was never filled. Until now, sort of.

LAX-C is a Thai owned megamarket the size of a Costco. Supposedly its the largest Thai owned business in the USA and it is the primary supplier of many of the Thai restaurants in SoCal. This is where they go shopping to get their ingredients.

Right outside LAX-C is a mini restaurant that sells plates of noodles, meat and papaya salad. There's also also stalls of food vendors similar to the set-up for the Indonesian one at the Duarte Inn.

Here's what Yelpers have to say about LAX-C and the food stalls: http://www.yelp.com/b...

So bring cash because I doubt they accept credit cards. I would recommend skipping breakfast the morning of the event, so that you can eat as much Thai food as possible. Once we have filled out bellies with Thai food, then we can go shopping inside LAX-C. If you like to cook and prepare Asian food, especially Thai cuisine, then this is the place to go. I really want to try out the coconut ice cream made with coconut milk that they sell inside the store.

I'm estimating the cost of the food will be $15 per person. I would recommend family style dining if possible, because that will enable us to try out more dishes.

Never a problem parking. They have chicken and beef satay and often sausages and a few other items outside which are reasonable in price and taste okay. There is a lunch place inside, but not really very good. You might be disappointed for the lunch food. However, the store itself is fantastic. In the frozen section, there's some nice coconut ice creams I like.

There should be adequate parking, since it is a Costco-like shopping center. But to be on the safe side, try arriving 15 minutes before the start of the event.

Do you happen to have any info on the parking situation there?

This was my first time with this group. This was an interesting place. I would have never know about it had it not been for this group. Everyone was very nice and shared what they got.

Really a great find. A huge warehouse full of Asian foodstuff and restaurant supplies. The food there was strong and delicious. Would come here for food and shopping again.
    •  It really was amazing to walk around and see the mega-supplies of ingredients, fresh and frozen produce and protein items, dry noodles, snack foods, etc. And just staring at the restaurant sized equipment was cool too. In terms of the food, I really liked the fish cakes (from the inside eatery) and the BBQ pork skewers (from the outdoor part). The other items were fairly good overall, but those were the ones that stood out the most to me. Fun meet up, great organizing, Robert!
    •  Fun and very interesting. The group shared food which was veery nice.
