Every year, the plain flooring of Paseo Colorado is transformed into a wonderful and colorful canvass filled with artwork made from chalk. Just imagine hundreds of artists each creating a unique floor portrait throughout the mall.

This is the only time of the year that I like visiting that otherwise boring mall.

If you love looking at chalk illustrations from hundreds of artists, this is the place for you that weekend.

By Monday, it will all be gone, so make sure to see the gorgeous artworks on display during this weekend. It only happens one weekend each year.

The event itself is free, but the mall might charge for parking. There are also other pay for parking lots in the area if the mall's is filled up.

I posted my pics of the event. I think I took 1 pic of the angel with white wings. You can share it with the artist.

Anyone get pictures of the angel? The woman who drew it didnt get any--her camera died. I only took two. If you have any, the artist's email is "[masked]"

    •  Loved all the artwork and the old cars, even the band was good. Beautiful day!

It was very interesting - the art was sometimes lovely sometimes odd - I'd never gone to a chalk festival before and now know I should! I did lose Robert & Co. - but I often wander off :) Robert has great ideas!
    •  Really great artists showing their amazing craft!
    •  A lot of fun. I'd definitely go back another year. I took a slew of photographs of chalk artists and their work, and also browsed the Antique mall that was adjacent to the plaza. Topped it off with a Tazoberry Passion Iced Tea from Starbucks to cool myself down. The worst part was the parking--I ended up four blocks away to find a free meter.
    •  Didn't get your email about the meet up location cause I decided to leave early and get the lay of the land. I missed you all, but it was a pretty fun event.
