Pizza Trek continues to Palermo's Ristorante Italiano near Silver Lake 8/19/9

Our pizza odyssey continues but now we can take a larger group because Brian and I will be cohosting. This time it's a suggestion from a fellow member, Tom. We're going to try Palermo's Ristorante Italiano. They have a broad selection on their menu and while this is intended to be a selection of family style pizza eating, check out the menu and if there's something else you're interested in feel free to order that on your own. Yelp reviewers give it 3-1/2 stars but they are covering the entire menu. I'm concentrating on pizzzzzzzzza. They have thick crust and thin and we'll try both. Cheese, veggie, name it and perhaps a salad for healthy measure. Anyone doing the family style will split the bill evenly with drinks being up to the individuals. ( Sal the resident wine expert has recommended we try the Silver Palm Cabernet Sauvingon ) Park in the rear OR at the post office nearby they tell me. Take a virtual food tour at:
http://www.palermores... Their website is:
http://www.palermores... Yelp says: There is a also custom wine shop so you can go shopping if your little heart desires. AND, if that isn't enough food for you then after dinner, if you're so inclined you can stroll across the street to the 'House of Pies'. Pizza pie followed, cherry, hhhmmmm, let me think!

I am such a fan of Palermo's Pizza Rosa that I always order it. It was good for me to find out that they have other delicous pizzas as well! I would definitely consider ordering the Nino (basically a Rosa with a thinner crust and veggies) and the Palermo Special (delicous sausage) - if the group was large enough that we could get a Rosa as well.

The pizza was excellent as was the wine and the company. Great choice for the pizza trek.
