Chef Ricardo Zarate is offering an "OG Tasting Dinner" every Tuesday at Mo-Chica for the month of June to celebrate Mo-Chica's 1-year anniversary at its current Downtown LA location. The prix fixe menu will feature Peruvian dishes from the original Mercado de la Paloma location for $27 a person (exclusive of any beverages, tax and gratuity).

Mo-Chica’s OG menu:

  • VINE-RIPENED TOMATO SALAD - Burrata, huacatay pesto and crispy quinoa
  • CEVICHE TRIO - Monkfish liver with cherry marmalade, Hokkaido scallops with bottarga, Hamachi with seaweed
  • ROASTED CHICKEN THIGH Layered with truffles, shitake mushrooms and kabocha
  • BEEF SHORT RIB With quinoa risotto and fresh chick peas
  • TRES LECHES CAKE With blueberry sauce

$27 per person
Gratuity and tax not included

*substitutions are politely declined*

Named one of the best new chefs in 2011, Ricardo Zarate has contributed to LA's culinary scene with 3 restaurants that offer distinctly different takes on Peruvian cuisine.  Mo-Chica is Zarate's first venture into the culinary world, first opened in 2009 as a food stand inside the Mercado la Paloma near USC.  After a few successful years, Zarate opted to move Mo-Chica to bigger heights by taking over a storefront location in Downtown LA, near Bottega Louie.  Mo-Chica has been highly reviewed by food critic Jonathan Gold (see: http://www.latimes.com/features/food/la-fo-gold-20120721,0,849473.story) and has been named one of LA Weekly's 99-Essential Restaurants of 2012.

To celebrate its 1-year anniversary, Zarate is offering a special 5-course OG Tasting Menu, featuring classics that were available and made popular when Mo-Chica was at the Mercado de la Paloma.

Please bring at least $50 in CASH with you to settle your portion of the bill, especially if you choose to order drinks with your dinner.  Street Parking and Valet Parking are available.  When opting for street parking, be sure to check the signs for any parking restrictions and to find out if you need to feed the meter.
