Named one of the best new chefs in 2011, Ricardo Zarate has contributed to LA's culinary scene with 3 restaurants that offer distinctly different takes on Peruvian cuisine. Mo-Chica is Zarate's first venture into the culinary world, first opened in 2009 as a food stand inside the Mercado la Paloma near USC. After a few successful years, Zarate opted to move Mo-Chica to bigger heights by taking over a storefront location in Downtown LA, near Bottega Louie. Mo-Chica has been highly reviewed by food critic Jonathan Gold (see: http://www.latimes.com/features/food/la-fo-gold-20120721,0,849473.story) and has been named one of LA Weekly's 99-Essential Restaurants of 2012.
To celebrate its 1-year anniversary, Zarate is offering a special 5-course OG Tasting Menu, featuring classics that were available and made popular when Mo-Chica was at the Mercado de la Paloma.
