Beijing Duck House--Family Style Brunch

As an equal opportunity omnivore, there is no type of food I won't try once.

I love duck; however, outside of Christmas dinner and the ongoing LA Asian Foodies Duck Battle, I don't eat it very often.  It's a shame, really, because I definitely like a well prepared duck dish from any country's cuisine.

Another JG restaurant....resistance is futile, LOL!

Did I mention that I love duck?

Bejing House serves up their special roasted duck with soup.  They also have some house made pancakes as well as the thin ones to make the duck wraps with scallions, yum!

We will need at least 30 minutes for the duck, so to bide our time we will try some of the other dishes on hand.

I really like the cold dishes at some of these places, so I'm willing to try some of those.  BH has no online presence and there are lots of reviews but only a few pictures on Yelp.

Consequently, this will be a family-style adventure in every sense of the word!

Check out the article and Anne Fishbein's delish slide show at the LA Weekly.  The Haichang with Leeks looks especially tasty, and there is pork belly in a garlic sauce!

By the way, I love duck.

I hope to see you soon.  We can all indulge in a little roasted duck-love.

P.S.  Did I ever tell you how much I love duck?

Andree made a good pick choosing the Beijing Duck House. The duck was very nice and included all the necessary stuff such as delicate pancakes, hoisin, green onions and julienned cucumbers. The Haichang, served with Leeks, looked like little whole wheat pasta tubes. Our waiter later told us that Haichang is sea worm. Mmmm sea worm good. This place isn't very large, so I'm playing it safe. I may have another Meetup here later if I like it.

I'm curious about this place since I know that it used to be a biker karaoke place!! Parking is scarce in their parking lot, but you can find nearby neighborhood parking
