CHINESE ONLY DIM SUM @ SUN CITY

Please Make Note of Pleasure Palate Attendance Policies and our 3 Strikes Rule by clicking here before RSVP-ing to this Event. Cancelling your RSVP within 24 hours or not showing up at the event will result in an automatic strike. 3 Strikes and You're Out!

OK, by titling this event "Chinese Only" neither I nor the restaurant are excluding anyone from this dinning experience. It simply means that I encounter very few non-asians when I dine at these establishments. That's really too bad for dim sum lovers because the food is very good at this Rosemead seafood restaurant. In fact some of the baked items such as the coconut and egg cream buns are drool inducing. I hope you'll join me on this "Deep End Dim Sum Dinning" experience. The restaurant opens early but we'll dine about 11AM. Be a little early because this place gets busy, so please arrive no later than 1050AM so we can begin dinning as soon as possible.

Please bring cash (preferably in small bills) as cash is always king.

There is a parking lot in back as well as street parking, just make sure to read the signs.

Hope to see you there!

We didn't get a chance to have the egg cream buns :-(
But I had fun any way and met some new fun people.
I'll let the people who actually attended the event pass judgement on the food and the Meetup itself.

    To J,K,and S,
    Have a great time!
It was Sklar that got me "hooked" on Lunasia.

    Have fun!

I was there with friends on Saturday. Their dumpling skins are really thick. Their egg custard tarts are runny. The price is good. Dim Sum not like Lunasia quality. We did want to try their beef stew noodles from dimsum cart but we were already full. They also have lunch specials.

Thanks for your "helpful" assertion Daisy. I've posted a picture that I personally took of their egg custard tarts (1 already consumed) and coconut buns. In the many times I've dined at Sun City I have never experienced a watery egg custard. Are you sure you're not talking about the buns with a purposely thick liquid center, ala lava cake? They are very tasty too but potentially messy.

Yeah, the coconut buns are great!

I get the impression they were trying to cut costs by using less or not as great quality ingredients. But it is a good deal as far as price is concerned.
