Pasadena is abuzz with bars and gastropubs. Congregation Ale House (FaceBook / Twitter), the Long Beach-based craft beer bar with its austere monastic design has expanded to Pasadena. The watering hole took over the shuttered Crown City Brewery space at 300 S. Raymond Avenue and opened in December 2011. I visited Congregation with a few Meetup groups recently. I enjoyed the ribeye burger and well cocktail, and shared my homemade chips and fries.

The Chief Operating Officer of Congregation is no stranger to the area. A San Gabriel Valley native, Ensling owned and operated Cafe Mundial in Monrovia for ten years and went on to manage the original Lucky Baldwins. Congregation's menu presents done-up pub classics like a pork and goat cheese sausage sandwich, grilled rib-eye burger and a fresh pretzel with Chimay cheese.
Please join the Seekers for Congregation's Mass Monday All-Day Happy Hour selections on January 30, 2012 at 6:00 pm in the bar area. Please don't hesitate to join us, the bar has some flat screen TVs broadcasting the latest basketball or football games. Order your grub and libation at the counter, take a number and then grab a seat. Seating is first come, first served -- but, I'll do my best to grab an inside table for our group.
Congregation does have outdoor tables with some heat lamps, but we'd be uncomfortable in the evening's cooled-down weather.
Cheers!!!
