K-town Sushi @ Boongho

I've heard good things about this place and find myself eager to try the food here.

Boongho is a tiny little restaurant tucked into a corner of one of the ugliest mini-malls on Wilshire, across the street from Tahoe Galbi and next door to the 7-11.

Here is the Yelp review.

Solid place. I generally preferred the sushi to the funky rolls. My yellowtail, herring roe, and mackerel sushi were very fresh. Thumbs up to the free green tea ice cream to cap off the meal. Thank you for organizing, Andree!

I don't know if there's a minimum, but their private rooms are fun to sit at. They modernized the traditional sitting on the floor thing w an open space just for your legs (so they dangle below the floor you're sitting on). Shoes are left outside the room, of course. They have the best hamachi collar I've ever had.

I remember way back at the start of my Korean food adventures not taking off my shoes in a seating area like this, and later feeling real bad - who knows what sort of insult that might have been - but at least I noticed half-way through my meal and then took them off. My clue was hearing a swishing sound every time the waitress came by and getting curious, I finally noticed it was her taking off her shoes as she went onto the raised platform.
