Singaporean & Chinese Fare at Litz Restaurant in Monterey Park

PLEASE BE MINDFUL OF PLEASURE PALATE'S ATTENDANCE & NO SHOW POLICIES.  If you need to cancel your RSVP, please do so at least 24 hours before the starting time of the event.

As diverse Los Angeles is, the area is still lacking in restaurants that offer a good variety of authentic dishes from around the world.  And with the many Asian restaurants in the greater Los Angeles area, we are still lacking those that offer cuisine from Laos, Fujianese, Sri Lankan, and Singaporean, just to name a few.

While there is no true Singaporean restaurant (though Spice Table, Starry Kitchen Nights, and Lukshon may offer a dish or two), a fellow Pleasure Palate member suggested that Litz Restaurant as a place to be able to sample a few Singaporean dishes.  Well, since I'm more than willing to try new cuisines at least once, why not Litz?

We will be dining "Family Style." The food bill will be split evenly amongst all attendees. Attendees will be responsible for paying for their own beverages.  Please note that flexibility is an important part of family-style dining, and if you want to take a chance on attending, you have to be amenable to what the group will order. You don't have to eat everything that is ordered, but everyone pays equally, whether you eat everything or not. The goal for family-style dining is to allow for the entire group to sample as wide a variety of dishes as possible.  If one or more attendees choose to order on their own, that limits the group's choices, which defeats the purpose of what Family-Style Dining is all about. If this definition of Family-Style Dining doesn't feel comfortable, this may not be the right type of event for you.

We will order an array of dishes to share, which may include:

  • Seafood with Singaporean Sauce
  • Penang Curry Beef
  • Singaporean Style Laksa Dumplings
  • Singaporean Style Pan Fried Rice Vermicelli with Shrimp
  • Cream Sauced Rice with Ox Tongue
  • Special Chili Filet Fish

Yelp Reviewers give Litz an average of 3.50 Stars out of 5.00, with a majority of the reviews giving 4 stars.  You can check out those reviews here:

The cost of this dinner is expected to be around $20, depending on how much food we order, any beverages, plus tax and gratuity.  You should bring at least $40 in CASH (small bills preferred) to settle your portion of the bill.

Parking is in the strip lot that runs along the west side of the restaurant on Lincoln Avenue.  Street parking is also available.  Be sure to read the street signs for any parking restrictions.  We will meet in front of the entrance at 7:15pm.  Because this is small restaurant, and the way its tables are set up, the size of this event will be limited to 6.  I will email attendees with my cell phone number the night before so that you can call or text me if you arrive before I do, or are running late or are lost.
